Vertical Recruitment are working closely with an award-winning multidisciplinary consultancy based in the Northwest. They operate in a wide variety of sectors and have a great reputation for the quality of their projects. Due to ongoing success within their business and the desire to expand, they are looking to recruit several key players in their Highway and Drainage sector. Including Infrastructure Engineers, across all progressions to be based in their Manchester office.
Working on challenging and multiple projects simultaneously across the transport, residential, commercial, industrial, health and retail sectors, you will be comfortable undertaking preliminary and detailed design of roads, drainage, and external works in both the public (adoptable) and private realm. Clients range from local and national developers and contractors to public sector bodies.
The position is for an individual who we expect will be fully conversant with industry standard design software packages; preferably Civil 3D (although extensive experience in the use of Open Roads or PDS would be considered if there is a willingness to train on Civil 3D) and Microdrainage, and who takes an active interest in the implementation and development of design standards and emerging technology.
You must be capable of working independently in producing drawn details of your design work in the form of AutoCAD drawings for regulatory approval and construction. You must also demonstrate an aptitude, and preferably an ability, to effectively delegate design responsibility to others and act in a mentoring role to less experienced staff.
You will be expected to have the following personal attributes and skills:
” A background within the field of Infrastructure design, at least 5 years’ experience

” Experience of providing an outward facing capacity as a design team representative in dealings with clients on Technical Matters
” Excellent communicator, both written and oral, with the ability to adapt communication style to suit different circumstances
” Ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels both internally and externally
” A ‘self-starter’ with drive, positivity and enthusiasm and a strong desire to succeed
